A History Of Bel Air Baptist Church

Bel Air Baptist Church was a mission in the early 1950's, operated by the late Reverend J.P. McKinnon and his family.  In about 1956, he turned the duties of operating the mission over to Reverend Ray Fowler who conducted services every Sunday afternoon until September 1958.

The mission was constituted into Bel Air Baptist Church September, 1958, with Reverend Fowler as pastor.

The church had two revival meetings every year since it was constituted.

The church has had many preachers as members through the years.  Some were soldiers from Fort Gordon and are now or have been pastors in Louisiana and Mississippi.

The church building is very old.  Before being used as a church it was a schoolhouse.  Many elderly people have told us they attended school in the building.

We praise the Lord for the many blessings that have come our way in all the years we have been here. We thank Him for all the good times and the bad that have come our way.

We thank Him for all the wonderful people that have become very dear friends through the many years we have been here.
